Terms of Service
The service
DoctorSpeak is an educational reference for medical students learning the gap between textbook terminology and real ward/clinical slang. It includes flashcards, quizzes, and dialogue simulations.
DoctorSpeak is not a substitute for clinical judgment, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always defer to your attending, residents, and institutional protocols.
Acceptable use
By using DoctorSpeak you agree not to:
- Redistribute, resell, or scrape the curated term list, scenarios, or other proprietary content.
- Use the service to train competing datasets or commercial AI models.
- Attempt to circumvent Pro-tier paywalls, rate limits, or other access controls.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Term definitions and example sentences are illustrative; clinical slang varies by hospital, region, and specialty.
Pro subscription
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly ($4.99) or annually ($29.99) through Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime from your account page — cancellation stops future charges.
- No refunds for partial months or unused time.
- Pricing changes (if any) are communicated at least 30 days in advance.
Intellectual property
All term definitions, examples, scenarios, branding, and source code are owned by Polsia and protected by copyright. You retain ownership of any feedback you voluntarily submit.
User content
You own everything you voluntarily submit to DoctorSpeak — including email addresses submitted to the launch list, any feedback, suggestions, or corrections you send us, and any other content you provide through the service. You retain full ownership of that content.
By submitting content to DoctorSpeak, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and incorporate it for the purpose of operating, improving, and developing the service. This license ends when you request deletion of your data, except where retention is required by law (see our Privacy Policy).
We may remove or refuse any user-submitted content that violates the acceptable-use list, infringes the rights of others, or is otherwise objectionable. We are not obligated to review every submission but reserve the right to do so.
Limitation of liability
DoctorSpeak is provided as an educational reference only and is not clinical guidance. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- DoctorSpeak (Polsia) is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the service.
- Our aggregate liability for any claim arising under these terms is capped at the greater of (a) the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $0 for free users.
- We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of any term definition, example sentence, or scenario for clinical, educational, or any other purpose.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, gross negligence or willful misconduct).
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to DoctorSpeak at any time if:
- You breach the acceptable-use list or any other provision of these terms.
- Your Pro subscription payment fails or is not renewed.
- Termination is required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DoctorSpeak, its users, or third parties.
You may stop using the service at any time by discontinuing use and, for Pro users, cancelling your subscription from your account page. Termination does not relieve either party of obligations that by their nature survive termination — including the retention and data-handling obligations set out in our Privacy Policy, intellectual property ownership, and any limitation of liability.
