A patient who is ambulatory and conversational - relatively well for a hospitalized patient.
How It's Used on the Ward
"At least they're a walkie-talkie" - low acuity, straightforward.

Clinical Context
The opposite of a train wreck. Walkie-talkies make lighter call nights. You'll appreciate them during busy stretches.
